"Ecstasy" 20" x 20" oil on gallery wrap canvas. This is an oil painting of an intimate view of a small booming crocus flower from my garden. The exquisite warm blues and violets contrasted against the dark background have captivated many. The painting extends around all four edges of the canvas so this gorgeous flower stands on its own without a frame to stifle it. The delicate red orange centers draw you in to the Ecstasy of this bloom and its sensory appeal in a style reminiscent of Georgia O�Keefe.
Sandi developed a "do-it-yourself" attitude during her teens when she couldn't afford luxuries. She fabricated her wardrobe and then her home decor after she married. Mesmerized by PBS TV art demo shows, Sandi painted some of her hand-fashioned garments. When the couple purchased new furniture, wall art was not in their budget. Recalling the PBS art shows and her fabric painting, Sandi passionately plunged into oil painting, learning by trial and error. Sandi's self-guided art experiments blossomed with four years of instruction from a talented community college art instructor, Bonnie Hill, of Roseburg, OR.
