The delicate shaped petals at the center of this little beauty, radiating out and becoming larger as they open like a flower, won me over. I bathed them in shades of red violet, accented by yellow-green and blue-green with a hint of yellow-orange. They truly are a succulent delicacy to be savored. Sandi developed a "do-it-yourself" attitude during her teens when she couldn't afford luxuries. She fabricated her wardrobe and then her home decor after she married. Mesmerized by PBS TV art demo shows, Sandi painted some of her hand-fashioned garments. When the couple purchased new furniture, wall art was not in their budget. Recalling the PBS art shows and her fabric painting, Sandi passionately plunged into oil painting, learning by trial and error. Sandi's self-guided art experiments blossomed with four years of instruction from a talented community college art instructor, Bonnie Hill, of Roseburg, OR.
